Hello Creek Families,

Although the opening of school looks very different this year, The Creek Middle School Youth Centers will be open for a safe and engaging alternative to staying at home. Our hours have changed to accommodate distance learning, opening at 8:30 am and closing at 4:00 pm.

We will be there to support students as they connect remotely to their classrooms and have staff available to answer questions and help keep them on track with their academic program to the best of our ability. We understand how important it is for students to have in-person Art, PE, Music, Science, and due to distance learning that will be limited. We will be providing a modified program with outside games and activities, arts and crafts, hands-on science experiments, cooking, music, video as well as some fun and chill time to socialize with friends.

To keep children safe and healthy we are instituting and adhering to all guidelines established by State Licensing, CDC, and the Contra Costa County Health Department. Students will be in the same small group of no more than 12 throughout the day. Each group will have its own materials, physical space and those spaces will not only be cleaned daily but all through the day.  Detailed protocols can be found in our reopening plan attached below.

Space is Limited

Space is much more limited than usual because of the small group protocol. We cannot provide a drop-in option at this time. Please turn in all forms by July 24th if your child will be utilizing The Creek as school begins and which days you would like to commit to.  On July 27th we will be opening registration to all families that are not already registered. Attached below you will find an updated registration form for new and returning families, Family & Child Acknowledgment and Disclosure form, and The Creek’s Reopening Plan.

Updated Cost of the Creek

We have set up staffing and facility accommodations in accordance with the special requirements mandated by the CDC, Local Health Department, and State licensing.  We are sensitive to the cost of this extended full-day program and set a minimum fee of $52.50 per day.

Also, please know that we will adapt our program and schedule based on any changes made by the local health department and the district as the school year unfolds.

The staff at The Creek are busy preparing for the upcoming term and we are really looking forward to seeing students again.
