Foothill Site Director
Colleen is the Site Director at The Foothill Location. Colleen started working at the Creek when it first opened in 2005. Colleen loves being with the kids and helping them navigate the middle school years. She has a great understanding of middle school kids - and they just love her! Colleen loves working with the kids in all areas of the program. She is very creative and enjoys sharing her art ideas with the students. Colleen grew up in Concord and attended both Foothill and Northgate High School. She is currently studying for her BA in Human Development with an emphasis in adolescence at CSUEB. Colleen is married and has a new baby daughter Odette!
Samantha Schiller (Teacher)
This will be Samantha's fourth year working at The Creek. Sam is our head teacher and helps coordinate the curriculum planning . She has always loved working with kids and works with children between the ages or 4-14! Samantha goes to Diablo Calley College, working towards transferring and earning her BA in Child Development, in hopes to become a teacher or a Child Life Specialist. She is looking forward to another great year at The Creek .
Sue has been working at The Creek since 2009. The students and staff love Sue! Not only is she fun and enthusiastic but she brings many years of professional experience to The Creek. She has a MS in Rehabilitation Counseling, BA in Psychology and History. Sue has always been involved in the local community as a facilitator in The C.H.A.M.P.S. programs for MDUSD and a PEP teacher for 8 years. She lives in Walnut Creek and is married and has two adult children .
Jade is currently attending Diablo Valley College where she plays volleyball. Volleyball is her main passion but when she has free time she loves to go on fun adventures with family and friends. She also has a blast being in a kitchen and trying new things. The Creek kids love hanging out with Jade!
David started working at The Creek as a sub and then was asked to join the staff at The Creek. He previously worked at Valle Verde Children's Center and currently works at a local preschool. David is attending DVC and is working towards an AA in early childhood education. When he's not at work he is usually mountain biking around the area , so if you see him on a green bike say hola. David looks forward to helping your children with homework and the outdoor and indoor activities.
Caija has been part of The Creek for many years. She first came to The Creek as a student at Foothill. Once she graduated from High School she began working as an Aide and this year will be a Teacher at The Creek at WCI. Being a student an now a teacher at The Creek gives Caija a real understanding of the philosophy of the program. Caija attends Diablo Valley College.
Mike is is currently studying computer science at DVC. Mike has had lots of experience working with kids at Nike Tennis Camps in Lake Tahoe and Steve and Kate's Camps during the summers in Walnut Creek. He enjoys playing sports and board games, and is looking forward to spending more time at The Creek!
Bob is our most amazing volunteer. Bob has been volunteering at The Creek since the first day it opened 13 years ago. The kids at The Creek love Bob! He instructs the kids on the art of pool, prepares and serves snack, and even helps with homework. Bob is a wonderful mentor to our students. The program really depends on Bob! He lives in Walnut Creek and is involved in his local community. He loves to travel when he is not spending his time at The Creek. We are proud to say that Bob had an article written about him in the July/August2013 issue of the Walnut Creek magazine 98degrees!
Zack is currently a student at Diablo Valley College, he is studying business marketing. This will be his second year working at The Creek, he also works at a BackForty on the weekends. His other job expierences have been working at baseball camps and the tree lot at Heather Farms. In his free time he enjoys playing sports and hanging out with friends. Zack is looking forward to another fun year working with the kids at The Creek.
